March/April 2010 - Fullmer Trip - Salzburg and Hallstatt

Before we checked out of the Villa von Trapp, we forced the kids onto the stairs for another Sound of Music scene re-enactment.

Outside the Villa von Trapp.

Rachel and Luke, inside one of the churches in Salzburg.

There must have been an interesting ceiling in this church...

We did a tour at the Salzburg castle.

And we also went to see the Hellbrunn palace.

And despite it being so cold, we also saw the Wasserspiele at the Hellbrunn palace.

Every time we had to stop to wait for something (in line, etc.) the kids all played a game called "Ninja."

We also went out to the salt mine at Hallein for a tour.
Everyone liked the slides...

And wandering around in our salt mine suits.

At one point we crossed the border into Germany.

That night we stayed in Hallstatt - a little city on the lake.

March/April 2010 - Fullmer Trip - Salzburg

Our next stop was Salzburg, Austria, where we spent a day doing a Sound of Music bike tour. It turned out to be a great way to see the city, with a lot of Sound of Music trivia thrown on.

Everyone rode their own bike, except Mallory, who rode a 3rd wheel connected to my bike.

A stop at the horse fountains at Residenzplatz.

Part of the group, riding beneath the Salzburg castle.

I think this was in the movie.

Mirabell Gardens.

There were a few Sound of Music scene re-enactments throughout the day.

At a house where Mozart lived.

At a cemetery.

The Nonnberg Abbey.

I think this is the house used in the movie for the place where the Von Trapps lived.

The gazebo, at Hellbrunn Palace.

The house where Mozart was born.

Mallory and Rachel.

At the entrace to (and below, inside) the Marionnette Theatre, where we saw a performance of Mozart's Magic Flute. It was.....interesting.

March/April 2010 - Fullmer Trip - Munich / BMW Factory Tour

We took a guided tour of the BMW factory in Munich...

...and then spent a few hours in the visitor center. I think everyone found something they would like to drive.
