March 2013 Swim meets and great trips!

March is the swim meet month.  Our school usually hosts one or two of them.  The schools that participate are from all over Eastern Europe.  There are two full days of competition.
Grant and the other teams cheering on their swimmers.
The middle school team needed someone to swim the butterfly.  Luke had never done it before in competition but was assigned to do it for the meet.  He did a great job!
Grant, the great, supportive brother that he is, cheering and coaching Luke.
My entire Friday and Saturday were spent watching the meet.  At least I had good friends to keep me company!
Grant getting ready to start the relay.  The relay team he is on for the high school, broke the school record!  A goal Grant had.

 And he's off....

My birthday celebration.  Creed makes my favorite Oatmeal cake every year!
Nice face Creed!
Polish pottery shopping trip number 12!
We loaded up the vans with as much as we could.
No, we didn't buy very much.
Me and my good friend Sacia.
In our favorite store.  Andy's.
Our favorite restuarant in Boleslawiec.
We were lucky enough to have Creed's brother and his family come for spring break.  We had a great time with them traveling.  This was a tour of the Parliment building in Budapest.
 RUN!!
 The Millers and the Millers

Cousins

The Jewish Memorial by the Danube.  These are shoes along the river.  Sadly, Jews were lined up along the river and shot near the end of WWll.
 A memorial bridge in Budapest.
The Ronald Regan statue in Budapest.
Luke, showing me how to play a game.  Nice face Grant.

Getting ready to go into the hospital in the rock.  A place that was used for medical care during the war.
 Fishermans Bastion.
 Luke and Trevon.
This guys was sitting there playing his little violin instrument.  I have no idea why he was inside this little cage thing, but we all couldn't stop laughing at him.
This little car is called a Trabant.  It was the only car that was available during the communist times.  Some people still drive their Trabants around. This car was asking for donations for the upkeep of it so Luke obliged.

Showing the Millers our favorite Hungarian treat, Kürtőskalács.
Of course we had to have a little Easter Egg hunt for Easter.  Only, we didn't use eggs and it was inside because it snowed.  I had brought back American Easter candy when I had gone to the states earlier in the month so we used that.
 Let the hunt begin!

After showing the Millers around Budapest for a couple of days, we hit the road and went to Vienna and Salzburg, Austria.  On our way, we stopped at the cemetery where several famous composers are buried.
Um freezing!!!  Yes, it was April.  Here we are in front of Beethoven's grave.
After arriving in Vienna, we had a reservation with the famous Figlmueller.  Largest Schnitzel in the world!
